Car insurance problem
Always ask WHO for advice.

My car was stolen two weeks ago, turns out Admiral Insurance cancelled my policy 3 days before.

I had 3 points which I genuinely forgot to disclose.

They had asked for a code to view my licence, which I responded to the email, but it was a no reply email address. šŸ˜³

Any ideas?

It gets worse Zico.

As I have lived in in a second floor flat, Iā€™ve never taken out house insurance šŸ˜³

Haven't read the whole thread so apologies if someone else has mentioned this but re the golf clubs your contexts insurance has a section on items away from the home doesn't it?

Re: Car insurance problem
Iā€™d paid upfront fir the year.
IF my car wasnā€™t stolen, the first I wouldā€™ve known about it was the refund into my account.

That doesnā€™t seem right Al.. Iā€™ve had my policy cancelled due to missed direct debits and they didnā€™t send me anything, let alone recorded

Re: Car insurance problem
They would have have to have sent a 7 day notice of cancellation by recorded delivery to enforce any cancellation. They canā€™t just cancel without giving notice

Have you called them?? The email says a bit fishy! How did they notify you that your policy is canceled?

Golf insurance seems like a great idea.

You can claim for hole in one bar costs.

ā€œFH, so you have had 5 hole in oneā€™s in the last month?ā€

Russ,

The email I sent went to a no response email address.

I had been told that within 14 days policy would be cancelled, if I didnā€™t respond.

I thought I had, but they didnā€™t get email because of my oversight.

Blimey, people actually go to those lengths with insurance. Not something I would consider.

Golf clubs insurance? Blimey, do people really do this in the real world of being ultra sensible?

Yes, not so much for the club cover, but 3rd party liability cover if you injure (or worse) somebody with an errant shot. Or damage a house near the course etc.

Such as this golfer, who had no cover.

As Jim said what they'll likely do is re-calculate the premium, pay you out and take their little chunk.

Re: Car insurance problem
Your case is literally a grain of dust in the sand for them.

Insurance companies do always try to 'not' pay out where they can and if they feel they have a case. And over a year they hope that all of their refusals to pay out adds up to a whopping surplus.

But keep on at them. Have you got a copy of your e-mail you sent declaring them? Did they tell you that they had cancelled the policy before your car was stolen?

I manage fleet as part of my job and I find if you keep on long enough they do relent.
